Frequently Asked Questions
The questions we get asked most. Can't find yours? Email orders@alloutfishing.com.au or call the store on (03) 5229 2455.
Orders
How do I know if something is actually in stock?
Stock is live on the site — what you see is what's in the store. We hold a small buffer back from the online catalogue to absorb in-store sales that haven't synced yet, so the rare oversell is one we can usually fix within an hour. If something does fall through, we'll contact you and refund the affected line straight away.
Can I change or cancel an order after I've placed it?
Yes — call the store on (03) 5229 2455 within an hour and we'll catch it before it picks. After that we may have already packed it, in which case the easiest path is to receive the parcel and send it back under our standard returns policy.
Do you take phone orders?
Yes. Call (03) 5229 2455 during store hours. We'll take the order, charge over the phone and either ship it or hold for Click & Collect.
Shipping
Where do you ship to?
Australia-wide via Australia Post. Some hazardous items (lithium batteries, certain pressurised products) are restricted to road freight only and may have shipping limitations.
How fast is shipping?
Standard parcels typically arrive 2–5 business days from dispatch depending on your state. Express is 1–2 business days to most metro postcodes. We dispatch same business day for orders placed before 1pm AEST/AEDT.
Do you offer free shipping?
Standard shipping is free on orders over $99. Below that, shipping is calculated by Australia Post based on weight and destination — you'll see the exact cost at checkout before paying.
Click & Collect
How does Click & Collect work?
Place your order online, choose Click & Collect at checkout, and we'll pick and pack it at the store. You'll get an email when it's ready — usually within an hour during store hours. Bring photo ID and the order email.
How long do you hold Click & Collect orders?
Seven days from the ready-for-pickup email. After that we'll get in touch — if we can't reach you we'll restock the items and refund the order.
Returns
Can I return something I changed my mind on?
Yes — within 30 days of receiving the order, in original unused condition with tags and packaging intact. Some categories (consumables like bait and line that's been spooled, used soft plastics, fishing licences) are excluded for hygiene and condition reasons. Postage for change-of-mind returns is at your cost.
What if my gear is faulty?
Australian Consumer Law applies — every product comes with consumer guarantees that can't be excluded. If something's faulty or doesn't match its description, we'll repair, replace or refund it. Email orders@alloutfishing.com.au with photos and we'll sort it.
Do warranties go through you or the brand?
Both, depending on the brand. For most rod/reel manufacturers we handle the warranty claim on your behalf — you ship it back to us, we send it on. For some brands the manufacturer requires direct contact; we'll point you to the right channel and help where we can.
Gear & Advice
Will you give me actual gear advice or just push the most expensive thing?
Actual advice. Our team fish the same waters as our customers and we'd rather you came back next year than upsold you something that doesn't fit. Tell us your target species, water type and budget and we'll match the gear to the job — sometimes that's the premium option, sometimes it isn't.
Do you have a setup builder?
Yes — pick a species and budget, we'll suggest a curated rod / reel / line / leader / lure combination from real local experience. The builder is at /setup-builder.
Do you stock used / second-hand gear?
No. New stock only, all from authorised distributors so warranty claims are clean.
Account & Loyalty
Do I need an account to order?
No — guest checkout is fine. Creating an account just means faster repeat checkout, order history and the loyalty program if you want it.
What does the loyalty program do?
Earn points on every order, redeem against future purchases. Details and balance show in your account dashboard.
